Child Abuse Prevention

A college employee or student who has reason to believe that a minor has been abused on the Colby Community College campus, on property owned or leased by the college, or while members of the faculty, staff or student body are participating in a college-related activity off-campus, or who has received a report or such alleged abuse, must report this information to the Vice President of Student Affairs or proper authorities as soon as possible. Faculty and staff who fail to report abuse may be subject to disciplinary action.

If there is a finding that the alleged abuse occurred, the college will assist the victim in obtaining appropriate counseling for the victim and members of the victim’s family, as needed.  Appropriate measures will be taken by the College to contact and work with local law enforcement regarding information about such reports.
