The Colby Community College Board of Trustees scheduled a public hearing for the 2021-2022 operating budget at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, in the Thomas Hall Board Room. The hearing will be broadcast on Zoom at https://colbycc.zoom.us/j/7507007180.
The purpose of the meeting is to answer objections of taxpayers relating to the proposed use of all funds, the amount of tax to be levied, and to consider amendments. Detailed budget information is available in person at Thomas Hall and will be available at the hearing.
The proposed operating budget is $20,878,199. Trustees also want to continue a recent trend of reducing the levy, this year lowering it by .143 mills to 41.050. Doing so would result in a reduction of 5.769 mills since 2017.
