The Colby Community College Distance Learning Veterinary Technology Program achieved a major milestone in September.  The program, which is the only fully online program to originate from a Kansas college, earned initial accreditation by the American Veterinary Medical Association in September.

Initial accreditation is granted to programs in their first five years of accreditation.  Graduates of the online program are eligible for licensure.

The program began offering classes in March 2012 at CCC.  Currently, there are students from several states in the prerequisite and program-specific classes.

Veterinary technicians are vital members of the veterinary healthcare team.  They work with veterinarians to provide the best medical care possible to their patients.  They are educated in the latest medical advancements in veterinary medicine.
