Following a national search, Colby Community College announced that Carolyn Kasdorf will serve as the next Vice President of Business Affairs. Kasdorf will be the top fiscal officer for the college. She replaces Interim Chief Financial Officer Brad Bennett, who was recently appointed Dean of Business Affairs.
“Colby Community College is excited to announce the arrival of Carolyn,” said CCC president Seth Carter. “She brings with her years of financial experience in higher education that will be beneficial to the college as we move forward.”
Kasdorf joins CCC with more than 19 years in higher education financial management at Colorado State University, where she has served since 2010 as Director of Finance and Business Operations for the university’s Advancement Division. In that capacity, she directed the development, implementation, and administration of a $14 million operational budget.
Prior to her current position, she was senior associate business officer for the CSU College of Engineering, and the assistant business officer in CSU’s Department of Chemical Engineering.
Born in Chicago and raised in Aurora, Colo., Kasdorf graduated high school from Aurora Christian Academy. She attended San Diego Mesa Community College and transferred to Christopher Newport University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in finance and economics. She returned to Colorado and in 2009 completed a MBA from CSU.
“I am proud to be part of this heart-felt, warm, welcoming community, and to be part of Colby Community College,” she said.
Kasdorf moves to Colby with her son Wyatt. Her interests include indoor rock climbing and biking. She begins her duties July 31.
