Colby Community College Endowment Foundation Director Nick Wells announced the selection of 20 nursing students to receive Neville Nursing Scholarships for the 2012-13 school year. The Maxine Neville Endowment Fund of $1.4 million was bequeathed to the Foundation in 2010 to support and scholarship top nursing candidates in the CCC Nursing Programs. Neville, who was born and lived her entire life in Thomas County, graduated from the Gem Consolidated School in 1932. She was a pioneer among women farmers and understood the hard work involved in making a living on the farm. She worked hard herself and was frugal in all of her business and management decisions. Even at the age of 94, she enjoyed a ride into the country to look at her wheat crop. Neville died September 2008 at the age of 94.
