“Dr. Sekavek is the quintessential educator,” said CCC president Seth Carter. “He is an individual who deeply cares about his profession and his students.”
Originally from Oakley, Dr. Sekavek earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri at Kansas City prior a distinguished 31-year career in the United States Air Force. He retired at the rank of colonel in 1993, and has been the supervising dentist for the CCC dental hygiene program since 1999.
“Anyone who knows Dr. Sekavek is not surprised about him receiving this recognition. He is an excellent steward of the college and an even better human being,” Carter concluded.
