Colby Community College announced that Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. George McNulty will be the 2016 commencement speaker on May 13.
McNulty is completing his third year at CCC. A native of northern California, he moved with his wife and daughter to the Colby area nearly three years ago from Reno, Nev., where they resided for 14 years.
“I feel privileged to work at Colby Community College and specifically enjoy the close-knit environment that CCC has to offer,” he said.
McNulty is a U.S. Army veteran who discovered his affinity for higher education while obtaining his master’s degree in counseling and educational psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He went on to earn his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the same institution.
“I believe in the life-long benefits of a college education and find it rewarding to work with students in higher education,” he added.
Entering his sixteenth year working in the college environment, McNulty has a broad range of experience and knowledge in most facets of campus operations. His particular areas of concentration include administration, academic advising, counseling, financial aid and teaching.
He enjoys the outdoors, time with family, football, and fishing with his six-year-old daughter when possible.
The May 13 commencement begins at 6 p.m. at the Colby Community Building.
