Colby Community College will host the Family Community Education (FCE) Conference on campus Oct. 7-9.  The group will be meeting in the Union and Cultural Arts Center.  Approximately 125 participants are expected.  The guest speaker for the group is Larry Hatteberg (see biography information below).  He will be speaking in the Cultural Arts Center on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m.  The talk is open to the public.  The FCE is asking that those who attend show a valid CCC student ID or give a $5 donation which will be used for the FCE Scholarship fund.  The group is requesting that faculty and staff donate to the fund.  If you have any questions, contact Mike Larmer at 460-3610.

 

Larry Hatteberg

          Larry Hatteberg is a name synonymous with the highest quality television journalism.  He began his 49 year television career with AKE in 1963 and distinguished himself with his ability to communicate visually, letting his subjects tell their story.  Larry has received more than 100 local, state and national awards for news photography and reporting and is Kansas’ most honored journalist.  His “Hatteberg's People” series is the longest running television feature in Kansas and his book “Larry Hatteberg’s Kansas People” spent weeks on the state’s best-selling list.  He currently co-anchors KAKE News at Five.
