Dr. George McNulty has been selected as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Colby Community College. Dr. McNulty replaces Dr. Keegan Nichols who resigned in June to accept a job at another institution. Dr. McNulty comes to CCC from Western Nevada College in Carson City, Nev., where he was the Interim Director of Financial Assistance.
His experience also includes serving as Coordinator of Retention and Counselor at Western Nevada. He was selected as Academic Advisor of the Year by Western Nevada College in 2009.
Prior to accepting the job at Western Nevada, Dr. McNulty was an academic advisor and taught online and traditional classes at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno from 2002-07.
He received his undergraduate degree in Physical Education from California State University, Chico; Master’s Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno; and his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada in 2011.
“Dr. McNulty’s experience, especially in Financial Aid, is an extremely valuable asset for our students at Colby Community College,” said President Steve Vacik. “He has the knowledge and experience to ensure that CCC is in compliance with guidelines and regulations at both the state and federal levels. He is a proven leader who brings a wealth of higher education experience to the school. I am certain that George and his family will be a welcomed addition to our community.”
