Fourteen Colby Community College student athletes were recently named to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) All-Academic 2010 fall teams.
To be selected for the team, student athletes must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher. Eight CCC students earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Lady Trojan volleyball players Kamee Benish (Sharon Springs), Danqi Li (China), Vanessa Loya (El Paso, Tex.), Emily Lubbers (Yuma, Colo.), Ashley McMullen (Burwell, Neb.), Rachel Montgomery (Boise, Idaho), J’Nae Raynor (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Jennifer Watkins (Houston, Tex.) were selected for the team.
Erica Rappard (Overland Park) was selected as a member of the women’s cross country and women’s half-marathon teams.
Ross Freeman (Australia), Garrett Jones (Lecompton), Wesley Toews (Ithica, Mich.) and Raymond Velazquez (San Antonio, Tex.) were selected as members of the men’s cross country academic team.
Jones was also selected to the men’s half-marathon team.
Benisch, Loya, McMullen, Raynor, Freeman, Toews, Velazquez and Jones earned 4.0 GPAs.
