After a three week break from competition, the Colby Community College equestrian team finished each day as Reserve High Point Team at a show hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Nov. 14-15.

Coach Shanda Mattix was confident the layoff didn’t hurt the riders. “We went to the show feeling prepared - and it showed in our results,” she said.

“Saturday we were Reserve High Point Team, just four points behind the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sunday we ended tied with Laramie County Community College for Reserve High Point Team.”

Individually, Allyson Dorrell (Intermediate division) and Kelsey Simpson (Beginner division) earned enough points to qualify for the Regional Championships.  Jade Kruse was also awarded Reserve High Point Rider at Saturday's show.
