Colby Community College ranked No. 36 out of 821 colleges on WalletHub’s 2016’s Best
and Worst Community Colleges. WalletHub, a financial website, based the rankings across
12 key metrics, ranging from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to student-faculty ratio to graduation rate.
The study also found CCC is tied for third best in the nation for the lowest student
loan default rate.
“This recognition is a testament to the quality of faculty, staff, and students at
Colby Community College,” said college president Seth Carter. “The evaluation metrics
used in this ranking are key indicators of academic strength and quality.”
According to WalletHub, the data was gathered from the National Center for Education
Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research, and College Measures.
Last year Colby was ranked No. 40 on the Wallethub study. Earlier this summer financial
advisor SmartAsset used similar indicators and listed CCC as the country’s eleventh
best community college.
