The Colby Community College Farm Bureau Chapter will host “Where’s the Food Without the Farmer” in the college cafeteria from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. The public is invited to attend this awareness day about American agriculture.“This is an opportunity to share factual information about American agriculture while having some fun as well,” said Collegiate Farm Bureau Advisor Shanda Mattix. “We have involved several organizations including the Thomas County Farm Bureau Association, Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Beef Council, Southwest Dairy Association, 21st Century Bean and the Kansas Livestock Association.”

The awareness day is part of the “I Love Farmers…They Feed My Soul” movement.  The goal of the group is to create conversations about American agriculture with college students and to disseminate materials that will lead them to credible sources of information about food and agriculture.

“CCC was one of the colleges selected to host this nation-wide event,” said Mattix.  “We are pleased to participate and invite everyone to come to the Union on Thursday.”
