Colby Community College student Tiffani Benavides has been named a 2026 Chime Workforce Scholar, joining 200 students nationwide recognized for academic achievement and their pursuit of career-focused education.

The Chime Workforce Scholarship is funded by the Chime Scholars Foundation and administered by the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. The award supports students pursuing career and technical education at two-year colleges to remove financial barriers as they pursue workforce credentials and degrees.

Benavides will receive a $1,000 scholarship to assist with educational expenses as she works toward completing a certificate or associate degree and preparing to enter the workforce in a high-demand field.

"Being selected as one of only 200 students nationwide is an outstanding accomplishment for Tiffani," Colby Community College President Seth Carter said. "This recognition reflects her commitment to her education and future career, and we are proud to see her hard work recognized on a national level."

Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and their commitment to career-focused education.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is the international honor society for students seeking associate degrees, bachelor's degrees or other college credentials. The organization recognizes academic achievement and provides opportunities for scholarships, leadership development and career preparation.
