COLBY -- Women's Intermediate Handgun Instruction will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on July 20 in Colby Community College's Bedker Memorial Complex.

The women-only class teaches higher-level handgun safety and fundamental operation and meets the training requirements and format of the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). Upon completion, certificates will be awarded.

Live fire will be done at an outdoor range, with students having the option of using their own handgun or a .22 caliber handgun provided by the instructors. No live fire or firearms with ammunition will be allowed in the classroom.

The registration fee is $40. Former Marine Corps officer Barry Kaaz and former Colby Police Department officer Glenn Kaaz lead the class. Both are USCCA Certified Instructors.
