COLBY -- The October Third Thursday art gallery walk is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 19 at five Colby locations.

The Colby Community College gallery in the Cultural Arts Center is the site of paintings by Newton artist Virgil Penner while CCC student Kylee Uhland from Logan will be playing the ukulele. Additionally, Colby's Brenton Kirkhart will hang his photography in the gallery. He said he creates work with indigenous inspiration of modern design combined with beauty and culture as he strives to generate emotions and define a new type of classic beauty of fine art.

Kirkhart will also have his pieces at Brown Dove Healing Arts. Pioneer Memorial Library highlights art by Steve Skiles of Colby and Dustin Olsen, from Schoenchen, will have a carryover show at the Prairie Museum of Art & History. The Jonas Gallery will feature the works of Jess Belangee-Englert.

Admission is free. For more information, contact Rebel Mahieu at (785) 460-5459 or follow her on Facebook.
