The Colby Community College Endowment Foundation proudly announces the Regan Lewis Memorial Scholarship for nursing students. Regan graduated from the CCC Licensed Practical Nursing program and was enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program when she passed away in September 2022.

"Colby Community College is honored that the Lewis family chose to honor Regan's legacy in this manner," said CCC President Dr. Seth Carter. "Regan was an incredibly bright and talented young woman. She would have set the gold standard for what it meant to be a registered nurse. Her life was taken far too soon."

Regan grew up on the family farm near Grinnell, Kan., where she loved being around animals. She enjoyed training horses, barrel racing, working and sorting cattle, and driving the combine. She was active in 4-H and was president of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). In addition to her affection for animals, Regan cared about people, which led her to pursue a career in nursing. Working her way up from a CNA to a CMA, Regan completed the CCC practical nursing program in May of 2022 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

"The Lewis family is grateful for everything Colby Community College has done for Regan," said Regan's mother, Connie Lewis. "The support of the college and its faculty helped Regan realize that she could obtain her dream of becoming an RN and continue as a nurse practitioner. With this memorial scholarship, Regan's dream can be carried on by many deserving students."
