Forty-two Colby Community College students were inducted into the Rho Iota Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of community colleges, on March 19 in the Robert Burnett Student Union.
The primary purpose of PTK is to recognize and encourage scholarship, learning and academic achievement among two-year college students. Those who qualify have completed at least 12 college credits and meet the grade point average requirement of 3.5 while maintaining at least a 3.25 GPA to remain in good standing.
Founded in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 recognized chapters in 10 nations.
