Colby Community College was recognized by the college review aggregator College Consensus in the Best Online Associate's in Sustainability Studies for 2020.
College Consensus listed the top 25 associate degree sustainability programs based on cost, reputation, and graduate success rate. The CCC sustainable and renewable energy program, ranked 15th in the study, has concentrations of solar photovoltaic and wind technology.
New classes begin every eight weeks. Because all 66 hours are offered online, students can learn from home or while maintaining employment. Saturday "boot camps" taught by industry experts help students gain hands-on training. One-year certificates are also available.
The program director is Derek Reilley. He is a solar Professional Trainer
