Colby native and former Mars Curiosity Rover team member Sarah Lamm will be the featured speaker for the Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, in Frahm Theatre.

She will talk about Curiosity as well as the newest rover, Perseverance.

Lamm was a team member on NASA's Curiosity Rover for three years and worked for the United States Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory for three summers. She was selected as a 2019 Mars Generation 24 Under 24 Leader in STEAM and Space, a group of young people from around the world who are breaking barriers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) fields and bringing the sciences to the public through multidisciplinary interests.

A 2018 graduate of Kansas State University, Lamm holds bachelor's degrees in chemistry, geology, and geography. She also graduated from Colby Community College and Colby High School in 2014. Today, she is continuing her education pursuing a master's degree at Kansas State.
