Josh Hunter, firearms instructor and sniper with the Greeley Police SWAT Team in Greeley, Colo., will be the first speaker at the 2019-20 Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The presentation will be in Frahm Theatre on the CCC campus.
Hunter has 14 years of experience as a law enforcement professional working within several jurisdictions throughout the world. His daily duties have ranged from criminal investigations to target surveillance and high-risk warrant service. He was also a federal agent and supported special mission coverage in counter-terrorism across the globe.
Hunter is no stranger to the area. The Colby Community College alumnus has presented to the Criminal Justice Association multiple times since 2006. He planned and executed several training modules for students interested in law enforcement.
An Army veteran, Hunter served as an infantry team leader with the 82nd Airborne Division. He holds an associate degree in criminal justice, as well as a bachelor's degree in political science from American Public University System.
He will speak about his career experiences and provide his perspective on the issues the nation is currently facing.
