Under the instruction of CCC adult education instructor Brandon Gay, 20 students at the Norton Correctional Facility earned their high school diplomas during the April 6-10 testing period. According to CCC's partner Greenbush, an agency focused on assisting incarcerated learners with developing skills for reintegration and employment upon release, the mark is the highest number to pass in one testing session among the organization's Kansas prison GED programs.
"Brandon is a dedicated and empathic instructor who has the ability to make material and education come to life," said CCC Adult Education Director Nance Munderloh. "His students respect him and enjoy the opportunity to study and be challenged to be their best. Brandon opens their minds to possibilities and doors to opportunities. CCC is proud to have such a quality instructor."
Gay is a Colby alumnus and has taught at the Norton facility for 10 years.
