Colby Community College history instructor Dr. Chris Price recently attended the 23rd Annual Summer Institute on the Holocaust and Jewish Civilization June 24 through July 6 at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
Price received a fellowship from the Holocaust Educational Foundation, which paid the tuition, room, and board during the program.
For more than two decades the Institute has aimed to increase knowledge of current and prospective faculty in higher education, specifically those whose research or teaching focuses on issues relevant to the Holocaust.
“Seminars and lectures at the Institute take an interdisciplinary approach to cover a diverse range of topics related to the Holocaust and the culture of European Jews,” Price said. “Participants have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with leading trends in research and teaching while learning from some of the top scholars in the field of Holocaust studies.”
In August begins his sixth year at Colby Community College. The Boomer, W.Va., native holds a Doctor of Arts in History from the University of North Dakota, a master’s degree in history from Marshall University, and a bachelor’s degree in history and government from West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
