Colby Community College ranked 12th out of 798 community colleges nationwide in the Best Community Colleges of 2018 study by SmartAsset, a financial advising company.
To determine the best community college investments, SmartAsset used three metrics: the graduation and transfer rate, cost, and student-to-faculty ratio.
Colby has a 68 percent graduation and transfer rate, which measures students who either graduate from a community college or transfer to a four-year institution. CCC has 13 students for every faculty member and students pay about $3,600 per year in tuition and fees.
“Colby Community College being ranked in the top 1.5 percent of the nation by SmartAsset further validates that CCC is providing a high-quality education at an affordable rate to our students,” said college president Dr. Seth Carter.
Other Kansas colleges in the top 25 include Cloud County (16) and Independence (24).
