Professor, author and pastor Dr. Jason Whitehead will be the featured speaker at the Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series hosted by Colby Community College on Tuesday, March 6. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. in Frahm Theatre on the CCC campus.
Whitehead is the author of “Redeeming Fear,” an interdisciplinary book that explores the emotion of fear from a religious perspective. He has also written about the intersections of therapy, evil, and suffering; the mental health stigma in communities of faith; and, most recently, the social construction of soulfulness.
According to Whitehead, his March 6 presentation will examine the rise and impact of the culture of fear and ways we might begin to unravel the effects of fear and reshape the world around us.
Whitehead holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degrees in sociology and divinity, and a doctorate in philosophy, religion and psychological studies.
There is no admission fee to attend the Max Pickerill Lecture Series. For more information contact Dr. Linda Davis-Stephens at (785) 460-5528.
