Colby Community College nationally ranks No. 15 in AffordableColleges.com’s 50 Most Affordable Community Colleges study.

The website does an annual review of approximately 800 schools and evaluates each institution’s financial metrics, student success metrics, and program metrics to serve as reliable indicators of quality and affordability. The purpose of the research is to distinguish between programs that appear cheap up-front and those that are beneficial over time.

“Colby Community College strives to provide a high-quality education at an affordable rate,” said college president Dr. Seth Carter. ”This level of recognition helps solidify that we are accomplishing our goal.”

The study utilized data available from the U.S Department of Education’s Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to develop a rating system of 1 to 10. The closer a school is to 10, the more value it offers to students. AffordableColleges.com notes it is nearly impossible to score a perfect 10. Colby’s score is 7.44.
