After contributing to one of the team’s best seasons in school history, Colby Community College sophomore volleyball player Aleksandra Malek was selected as a second-team NJCAA Division I All-American.
Malek, an outside hitter from Pszow, Poland, was third in the nation in total kills (501), third nationally in kills per set (4.60) and second nationally in service aces per set (.71).
In November Malek was named to the 2016 NJCAA All-Region VI first team and was also the Jayhawk Conference West Player of the Year.
“Aleksandra is very deserving of this honor,” said Colby head coach Carey Jones. “She was a vital part of our success the past two years and we are very excited to see where she ends up next fall!”
