""Dr. Jeffrey G. Sekavec is a U.S. Air Force veteran with a diverse academic and professional background. He earned an Associate of Science in Chemistry from Colby Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bethany College. He also holds a Master of Science in Biology, with an emphasis in microbiology, from Fort Hays State University and a Doctor of Management, with a specialization in homeland security, from Colorado Technical University. In addition, he completed the Harvard Medical School Executive Program for Senior Life Sciences Leaders.

Dr. Sekavec’s instructional affiliation with CCC began in 2006. He returned to the College full-time in 2017 as director of the biology program and currently serves as STEM Division chair. He also leads CCC’s involvement in the National Science Foundation Noyce STEM Education partnership with Fort Hays State University.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Sekavec has worked with select government and civilian organizations since 2014 on preparedness operations involving first response and biosecurity, incident management, training, and organizational management. His published research interests include antimicrobial agents and antibiotic resistance, first-responder operations, leadership and management, and the adoption and application of the National Incident Management System in law enforcement.
