""Bobette Maier brings extensive clinical experience and a passion for student success to her work as a Registered Dental Hygienist and educator. She grew up in rural Nebraska, where her family raised cattle and farmed wheat and corn. After graduating from Chase County High School, she earned a certificate in Dental Assisting from Mid-Plains Community College. She later continued her education at the University of South Dakota and completed the program to become a Registered Dental Hygienist.

Mrs. Maier’s first opportunity as an RDH brought her to Colby, where she worked for two general dentists while also working part-time for a periodontist based in Hays, Kan. Her professional experience in clinical practice helped shape the knowledge and perspective she now brings to the classroom.

She later joined the faculty at Colby Community College as a full-time instructor and quickly advanced to the position of site director. Mrs. Maier is passionate about teaching and mentoring future dental professionals, believing strongly that education is built on both knowledge and compassion. As she often says, “Teaching students keeps a person’s mind young,” and “People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care.” These principles guide her approach to teaching and supporting her students.

Mrs. Maier and her husband, Jody, live in Colby. Their two grown children have also pursued successful careers in the medical field, continuing the family’s commitment to serving others.
