ColbyConnect FAQ's
Questions About ColbyConnect
Where do I have to take my exams? Am I required to go to a testing center?
Exams can be taken in a number of ways. We offer a testing center on-campus or you
can choose your own proctor, or simply complete the exam online.
How quickly will an instructor respond to my questions?
Our faculty will respond to you within a 48-hour period of time, and in most cases
you will receive the answer you need that same day.
What happens if I have a question or problem concerning the online system at three in the morning? Do I have 24-hour, 7 days a week technical support with a real person?
Unlike many online programs, our system is maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
every day of the year. If you have a question or problem at anytime, you can call
and someone will be available to talk you through the issue.
Are the courses engaging or do I just respond to questions, read and take exams?
We have designed our courses to be highly interactive and engaging. We truly want
you to have the best experience, which means we build the courses so that you will
learn the information in an effective enjoyable format.
Do students feel connected to the course, the instructor and classmates or do they feel like just another number?
Online education used to be thought of as a lonely experience. At Colby Community
College, you will be connected to classmates and your instructors at a level greater
than a traditional face-to-face course. Interactions occur throughout the semester
enabling you to feel truly “connected.”
How do I know my computer has everything it needs to meet the requirements of the online system?
We have a comprehensive recommended computer configuration detailing all of the requirements.
Will I be informed of my progress in the course or do I have to wait until the end of the semester?
Part of the connection to instructors online is that you should always be aware how you are performing in a course. Constant communication between faculty and students is a requirement in any education environment, but especially online.
